Hi. I'm Lisa. Lover of diet coke, photography and the computer, not necessarily in that order. A mom to two and wife to one. I'm a Vermont based photographer, specializing in lifestyle portraiture in the greater Chittenden County. My style is simple and laid back. I work on location and in the studio. I love natural light and black and white photography. I feel so blessed to do what I do--- creating memories for people, a smile, a connection, a moment (that might otherwise be forgotten) frozen in time and memories for generations to come.

The last 2 days the weather can’t decide what it wants to do. Sun, torrential downpours and more sun. Today after it stopped raining D wanted to go out and “play”. I asked if I could bring my camera and she graciously said yes! Her and I went for a pedicure today while the “boys” went and saw the new Transformer movie (which they said was good but long and very loud). Notice the rainbow of colors on those toes! Her idea.

Summer has FINALLY graced us with it’s presence. Lots of the pool, beach and boat. Nobody is enjoying it more than little miss here. She is a fish and you can’t keep her out of the water. Hope you’re all enjoying it too.

I can hardly believe my niece (in the gray dress, isn’t she beautiful?) graduates from high school this year. That makes me feel a lot of things– proud, sentimental, nostalgic, OLD, lol! Forget the bow tie and dress shoes for her boyfriend Lucas. I love that he is who he is– a talented artist, kind, funny and so good to my niece and my children! Anyway, they are both attending fabulous colleges this Fall and I know they are destined for great things.
Their prom was at the Echo Center downtown— cool spot for a prom if you ask me. I was told they had a blast. Just a few traditional and “fun” snaps. These were a challenge in the glaring late afternoon sun but they were good sports while I did my thing!

No, not my father in-law, my husband. I took the shot for no other reason then he came home from work, called to me (I was playing out back with the kids, camera in hand, of course) and when I turned around……he was looking good. So there you have it. Meet the man who just rolls his eyes when I switch from Canon, to Nikon and back again. Who says “go for it” when I want to turn half of our downstairs into a photography studio and office. He is a good sport about my growing lens collection, my Etsy addiction and tolerates my late night editing sessions. Clearly he believes in me and supports me 100% on this photography adventure. For those reasons and many many more— he rocks and I love him.

I wasn’t sure if this one month old would sleep for our session. She was asleep when she got here and woke up a bit when we transferred her from her carseat. Mom didn’t think she would go back to sleep without being swaddled but she couldn’t resist my 80 degree room and the “womb” noises rockin’ on the ipod. Isn’t she the sweetest? As you can see— I had a really hard time narrowing down my choices.

These children have the MOST amazing eyes. So blue and lashes like you wouldn’t believe. They weren’t really into having their pictures taken. This first shot kind of sums it up. They did this on their own w/out even knowing the other was also making a silly face.
We still managed to steal some smiles and have some fun!

We met when I was a freshman in high school. She has been my been my very best friend since 1985. Yes, I know that I’m dating myself with that statement but who cares. She’s the kind of friend who’ll never turn her back on you, who’ll always come to bat for you, who’ll drop what she’s doing to be there for you. Today she stopped by with her son for a visit. I love her little guy, as much I love my own. He’s amazing.

Spring is here and I don’t think there is anybody quite as happy about that as D! She spends every last second of daylight outside, practicing handstands, cartwheels, riding her bike. Last night while I sat at the computer I heard her behind me giggling……the giggles were b/c she was wearing my pink flip flops and she loved that. So I turned off the computer and went outside to play w/ her. The light was so pretty that I had to run back for the camera…she let me take a few shots before getting grumpy and turning into her alter ego “Bratella Sue”. Bratella Sue usually comes out when the camera does.
Me “put your hands on your hips D” and her response “I am MOM”. LOL.
- She is seriously too cute! My son has that same attitude and he is about that age. Too funny :)
